Candidates will usually have at least 5 GCSEs at grades A* to C (or equivalent) including maths (grade B), English and science.

What apprentices will learn
  • methods used to design rail transport infrastructure, systems and equipment
    • technical and engineering principles used in rail transport systems
    • safe working practices and how to comply with them
    • how to write technical reports, follow technical drawing conventions and use engineering terminology
Qualifications

Before taking their end-point assessment, apprentices must achieve level 2 English and maths (equivalent to GCSEs at grades A* to C).
